How can I create dependent menus like make/model chained menu ?
How can I create dependent menus like make/model chained menu ?
Solution
To add new chained select field (e.g. make/model, state/city, etc) you may want to follow these steps :
1/ go to Admin Area -> Manage Fieldsets -> Field Manager
and select the fieldset in which you would like to create dependent
drop-down menu (chained selects);
2/ click "Add" button at the bottom;
3/ select "Dependent Menu (depmenu)" as Field Type and click
"Continue";
4/ enter Field Name and Caption as when you create any field;
5/ select proper Menu ID in "Field Elements Set" if your hierarchical
menu elements are already created,
if not - click "Manage Elements" and create them
(in the latter case you'll have to refresh "add field" page to make new
Menu ID visible in "Field Elements Set" box)
6/ click "Submit" to create this new field
P.S. You can create all chained select menu elements in advance or add
them at any time in section
Admin Area -> Manage Fieldsets -> Dependent Menus
