What is the best way to setup price field so the customers will enter numeric value but website will display formatted price with comma separators ?

In Admin Area -> Manage Fieldsets you can edit your price field and do the following : 1/ Specify "digit" or "decimal" as "Validation Type" to allow numeric values only; 2/ Make the following or similar note in "Note / Hint" : "Numbers only, no $ or commas"; 3/ To display formatted prices (i.e. with comma separators) please see this URL : How can I change the displayed format of the prices ? | |
